We are a voluntary-membership, not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to create an environment for the responsible use of water for food and fibre production.
IrrigationNZ is a prominent industry body in New Zealand dedicated to promoting and supporting the sustainable and efficient use of water resources.
Established in 2004, IrrigationNZ provides a wide range of services, including advocacy, education, and technical support, to ensure that irrigation practices and related practices; contribute positively to New Zealand's economy, environment, and communities.
With a membership base of over 4,500 that spans farmers, irrigation scheme operators, and service providers, councils and more, IrrigationNZ acts as a central hub for knowledge for the irrigation sector. Through training programmes, workshops, and resources, IrrigationNZ equips its people with the skills and information needed to implement best practices in water management.
Moreover, IrrigationNZ engages in policy advocacy, working closely with government agencies, environmental groups, and industry stakeholders to shape regulations and standards that balance the needs of agriculture with the protection of natural water resources. By fostering collaboration and promoting sustainable practices, IrrigationNZ plays a critical role in ensuring the long-term viability and resilience of New Zealand.
