It covers the change from a drought prone district through to a thriving farming district; and all the difficulties that were encountered along the way. A very interesting book which will appeal to anyone interested in New Zealand history, agriculture or irrigation. Future irrigators will also be interested in the benefits of irrigation once the various obstacles are overcome.
