This year the AGM will be held in Wellington on Wednesday 26th of October

The AGM will begin at 4.30 pm with the awards evening following beginning at 6 pm, where we will recognise the winners of our Innovation in Irrigation and Ron Cocks awards, as well as listen to guest speaker Damien O'Connor and enjoy some drinks and nibbles thanks to the generous sponsorship of Anderson Lloyd.

All members are welcome and will receive a formal invite in the coming weeks.

This award celebrates, encourages, and promotes innovation, alongside the positive initiatives being undertaken in our communities with, and as a result of, irrigation.

A $2,500 cash prize will be awarded for 'The Best Innovation, Discovery or Achievement that makes a positive contribution, impact or benefit to irrigation in NZ'.

Thinking about entering – here are some ideas!

•Technical Innovation - farm, orchard, vineyard, or scheme innovations that have helped with the business of irrigated food production.

•Irrigation Enhancing the Environment - projects and research that have led to environmental improvements

•Resilient Communities - projects and research that have led to improved community outcomes

The Ron Cocks Award recognises a person who has made a significant contribution to irrigation in New Zealand.

J.R. (Ron) Cocks was a Mid Canterbury farmer, a pioneer, visionary, and a leader in farming affairs. His greatest legacy to New Zealand was his leadership in water issues. The Memorial Award acknowledges that legacy and encourages others to follow his leadership.

Do you know someone who has done a lot of work for the irrigation sector, whether that be through, policy, environmental, compliance, community, or the list goes on, it doesn’t matter in what shape or form, yet is a great opportunity to recognise it, whatever that may be!
