Workshop - Building Knowledge & Understanding oF ASM

Objectives

For all stakeholders to -

  1. Develop a clear understanding and awareness of the current and potential future scope and use of the ASM approach.
  2. Develop an agreed set of key operating principles for ASM that are acceptable to regulators, industry and community stakeholders.
  3. Develop an understanding of the drivers and barriers for ASM.
  4. Develop a process for the better coordination and integration of ASM activities.
  5. Identify areas of further work for the successful development and implementation of ASM.

11.00am             ASM – a legal perspective – what can and can’t be done through ASM (Peter Skelton)

11.30am             Drivers, barriers and risks for industry and land user uptake.

Workshop groups and feedback –

Objectives –

(a)   Identify the industry and regulatory drivers / barriers / risks for the successful uptake / transition to an ASM approach.

(b)   Identify options for how drivers are best incentivised and perceived barriers and risks are best overcome.
