
Nicky Hyslop was elected to the board in October 2009. A registered farm management consultant Nicky is a shareholder and farm adviser with Macfarlane Rural Business, a private consultancy firm based in Ashburton. In partnership with her husband Nicky also farms an intensive sheep, beef and arable fully irrigated property at Levels, South Canterbury.
She is chairman of Levels Irrigation Company Ltd and a director with Opuha Water Partnership. Having experienced the production opportunities first hand and the impact on the wider community of investment in water storage through the Opuha Dam she is committed to sustainable irrigation and strong communities. New Zealand has an abundance of water that has the opportunity to provide positive economic, social and environmental outcomes and with good leadership Nicky believes the infrastructure challenges and environmental expectations surrounding these water opportunities can be achieved.
