The IrrigationNZ team expanded in October 2010 with the appointment of Paul Reese to the position of projects manager.
A farmer of 17 years on his 420ha sheep and beef property at Hawarden, Paul was looking for a change of direction in life, seeking wider challenges in the agricultural field. He is confident and enthusiastic towards the challenges encompassed with his role in INZ.
The ongoing development of a private irrigation scheme, incorporating a unique, innovative set up with water stored in dams and recharged sustainably during the winter months, has given him hands-on experience and a valuable insight into the benefits, challenges, and rewards that irrigation can offer, including consenting processes.
The 43-year old father of three girls, together with school teacher partner Jenni, plans to lease the farm and move into Christchurch, and of his own admission become a “week townie”.
“I am looking for a wider challenge in the agricultural field. The irrigation industry excites me as being positive and diverse, offering huge opportunities and challenges.”
